Sanderson Center has prepared hospital kits for Culturally Deaf and Hard of Hearing. The Hard of Hearing Specialist can give you 1-hour presentation to show how the hospital kids can aid hearing people bridge communication barriers while working with Deaf and hard of hearing people in a medical setting.

Hospitals and agencies are welcome to purchase the ready-made kits from the Sanderson Center at the exact cost. CDs are available that includes all of the supplies needs of where you can purchase items to make kits.
Please be cautious that the Deaf and Hard of Hearing kits are similar items but they are not the same. The Deaf kit has Medical Communication Manual for serving Deaf Patients. The purpose is to be used as a guide for one-on-one communication. It is a tool to assist in communication while waiting for the arrival of a certified sign language interpreter. This resource should not be used in lieu of obtaining an interpreter.
