Welcome to the web page for the Utah State Division of Services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DSDHH). The Division was created under the Utah State Office of Rehabilitation in 1988 and provides services for people with hearing loss (both Deaf and Hard of Hearing). We provide services out of two locations; the Robert G. Sanderson Community Center in Taylorsville, and from our satellite office in St. George.
Mission Statement:
Division of Services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing provides education, advocacy, and accessible services to enhance the quality of life for people who are Deaf or Hard of Hearing.
Vision:
Division of Services to the Deaf and Hard of Hearing is an innovative resource empowering individuals who are Deaf, or Hard of Hearing throughout Utah.
Belief Statements:
- We will support collaboration and cohesiveness of individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Deaf-Blind, and their organizations.
- We will embrace technology in getting our message out to the public
- We will embrace technology that will help improve the quality of life for people who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing. As new technologies are released we will educate ourselves so that we might educate the community.
- We will be an unbiased resource for parents of Deaf children.
- We will increase awareness of the needs of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to the general public.
- We will advocate for communication access for all.
